What is Cellulite?

Pocket dimply skin on the thighs and buttocks characterize this condition.

Fat In the Body and The effects of Cellulite:

The body is padded with a layer of fat which is attached to the under laying muscles by a thin mesh work of loose connective tissue. This anchors the skin to the muscle below. In some women this mesh of connective tissue becomes abnormally stretched, weakened or inflexible pushing up the skin. This allows an unsightly little patches of fat to appear.

Causes and Treatments:

The reasons for these conditions are; the hereditary factor, excessive estrogen production, faulty removal of body toxins, aging and poor circulation. There are innumerable creams on the market which have no proven value. Now surgeons in Costa Rica are attempting a liposuction type procedure that breaks the fiber's bridges that cause the dimpling and attempt to re-inject the fat to restore a more even type appearance.

The only realistic, long term solution is proper hormone balance,  an optimal nutritional program and an effective exercise regime.
